JAPAN AWARD

Parallel to the gregor calendar award in Stuttgart, a Japanese calendar competition and exhibition is held annually in Tokyo and Osaka. The Japanese jury of experts also evaluates and presents calendars from Germany, thus documenting to the Japanese public the global significance of calendar production and, in particular, calendar creation in Germany. A jury of experts in Japan evaluates the submitted calendars in February. The jury awards the “Gold”, “Silver” and “Bronze” categories for the selected calendars. In addition, special awards can be given for exceptional individual achievements.

Submissions can be made: Calendars of any kind.

All calendars submitted to the Gregor Calendar Award in January will automatically also participate in the Japan Calendar Award (at no extra cost).

The GREGOR takes a break

The Gregor Calendar Award is suspended for one year. The background to this is the manifold effects of the Corona pandemic, which have not passed by without consequences even for the renowned competition, which has been successfully held for 71 years, and which will probably accompany us all into next year. The organizers will use the pause in the competition to develop a modernized and forward-looking concept for the appreciation of calendaring.

You will find news on this process in this space during 2022.
